Manchester United
Some lessons from yesterday’s chaotic match

It was a rollercoaster of emotions as United surrendered their lead three times and even fell behind once in the 4:4 thrilling draw against Bournemouth. Despite the disappointment, there are some lessons we can learn from the game and improve on. Here are 3 key lessons I learned from the match:
1. Manchester United has goals in the team: one thing we have noticed this season is that we can be able to score goals because the team is creating a lot of chances and could have easily scored 6 or 7 goals if not for some poor finishing. To score 4 goals in 2 consecutive games is a huge boost for the forwards and I believe it will give them the needed confidence to push for more. Cunha, Bruno, Amad and Mbuemo are devastating when in form and I believe there are greater days ahead for this team.
2. Defence causing us valuable points: while we celebrate the forwards for trying to get goals, we are cursing our luck about the continued shambolic defending from our defenders. We seem to forget the basics of defending and are all over the place when being attacked. United still haven’t gotten that one good player to organize our back line and command the area. As a fan, you are always not comfortable with a 1 goal advantage as far as United are concerned no matter how good they’re playing because you know that one attack from the opposition team will most likely result to a goal. We need to defend our goal better and protect our leads when we have a goal. Keeping a clean sheet is a necessity if we want to go far season. Conceding 4 goals at Old Trafford is not only concerning, it is terrible.
3. Amorim’s excuses about Mainoo are not tenable any longer: the more Amorim tries to make us think Mainoo is not a good player, the more he’s proven wrong. The dude came in and showed what he’s capable of. Neat passes, composed on the ball, he was a commander in that midfield and with more minutes, he is a great player for us. I believe if he was elsewhere, United would have been looking to get him for over a 100m pounds. I think Amorim can pair Mainoo with Bruno in that midfield and we can still play well as we saw yesterday when he came on.
