They began with a 3-1 home win over Chelsea before thrashing Cypriot side Pafos 5-1 and Club Brugge 4-0. They then travelled to Paris to take on the holders PSG, when a brace from Diaz, before he was red carded, paved the way for a 2-1 statement success.
