Manchester United
One of the biggest decisions Amorim

One of the biggest decisions Amorim has to make in the coming games is choosing between Lisandro Martínez and Luke Shaw on that left side.
Martínez has only just returned after being out since February, so Amorim is clearly easing him back in with short minutes and controlled situations.
But once Licha is fully fit, that’s when the real dilemma begins.
Putting Martínez back into his natural role immediately improves the defence. The aggression, the reading of danger, the composure on the ball, it all brings a different level of control when we build from the back.
Shaw, on the other hand, gives you something else entirely. Experience, athleticism, recovery pace, and a genuine attacking outlet down that side. He stretches the pitch and gives us balance going forward.
So the question isn’t about who’s better, it’s about what Amorim wants from that left side.
Does he stick with Shaw for his reliability and attacking presence, or does he restore Martínez to left centre-back and push Shaw higher into a wing-back role?
Either way, once both are fully fit, this decision will shape how United play down the left for the rest of the season.
